Spinning Top Generator!

From the Green Science series, this science kit will amaze and educate! So what the heck is a spinning top generator anyway? Well, it works due to an effect called electromagnetic induction. It's a lot easier than it sounds, we promise! When a magnet is moved through a coil of metal wire, an electric current is "induced". This was discovered by Michael Faraday in 1831. Your future scientist will learn this concept while they build this real life experiment that really works. A great lesson in the possibilities in alternative energy production. Also a great science fair project idea. In a nutshell, discover how a simple spinning top can produce light. No batteries, just amazement!

Science Kit includes: 1 light tower with LED installed and wires attached, 1 spinning top with magnets installed, 1 spinner spindle, 1 plastic drum with coil of wire, 1 platform, 2 terminal caps, 1 spinning top pattern card (both sides printed), screws, detailed instructions with fun facts. Also needed but not included in this science kit: small Phillips-head screwdriver.
