About the company: A privately held company, Bridge Street Toys is located in a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts. The company was founded by two engineers who wanted to continue the production of the original Girder & Panel, Bridge & Turnpike, and Hydrodynamic buildings sets that were made in the late 1950's. Girder and Panel was inspired by a building in Cincinati, Ohio, and in 1957 the first Girder and Panel set became available from Kenner Products. Most adults who played with these building sets as children have fond memories of building little cities by integrating the Girder and Panel, Bridge and Turnpike, and Hydrodynamic sets into one layout. The vintage sets are still in demand by Girder and Panel collectors and enthusiasts and the new sets are compatible with the vintage sets. They have won numerous awards from the National Parenting Center, NAPPA Honors, iParenting Media, Family Choice, Parents Choice, and Dr. Toy!
