Cells can reproduce by dividing into two parts through a mechanism which is not as simple as one might imagine (mitosis): the two newly formed cells can either be equal to their parent cell or, undergoing a transformation, they result in totally different cells. Take for example the egg cell, which, after fertilization by the spermatozoa, gives birth to all the different cells composing the body. What a cool set of slides!
